US comedy series Minx, produced by actor and filmmaker Paul Feig, will premiere on Stan in mid-March.

Set in the world of erotic magazine publishing in the 1970s it stars Ophelia Lovibond (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Jake Johnson (New Girl). Also featuring are Idara Victor (Rizzoli & Isles), Jessica Lowe (Desperados), Lennon Parham (Playing House), Michael Angarano (This Is Us) and Oscar Montoya (Final Space).

The 10-episode comedy screens same day as the USA.

Minx centres around Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond), an earnest young feminist who joins forces with a low-rent publisher (Jake Johnson) to create the first erotic magazine for women. In order to get her career on track, they must navigate their way through the LA porn scene, facing challenges and conflicts from opposing parties.

Creator and Showrunner Ellen Rapoport executive produces the series alongside Paul Feig (Stan Exclusives Love Life and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) and Dan Magnante (Stan Exclusive Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) for Feigco Entertainment, Ben Karlin and Rachel Lee Goldenberg, who also directed the pilot. Jake Johnson serves as a co-executive producer. Lionsgate Television is the studio.

Thursday 17 March on Stan.

  1. Hmm, how many contemporary political obstacles will get in the way of enjoying some guilty entertainment watching this show, the seventies porn scene opened up the publishing world to a variety of sexual exploitation and made famous a number of alpha male editors of predominantly men’s magazines, with Playboy and Penthouse being the best known. Minx would need to be suitably racy to get any meaningful ratings, perhaps Vida and Fleabag set the benchmark for this type of show.
