Renewed: The Night Agent
New action thriller has already become Netflix's third-best series launch ever.

Newly-launched action series The Night Agent has been renewed by Netflix, just a week after it premiered.
Netflix has confirmed a 10-episode second season of the thriller series, starring Gabriel Basso as FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who’s investigating a conspiracy that could reach the highest levels of the US government.
The series debuted in the #1 spot on the English TV List with 168.71M hours viewed, making it the most viewed title this week. The action-thriller ranks #3 for premiere week of viewing across all Season 1 TV and appeared in the Top 10 in 93 countries.
The series by Shawn Ryan is adapted from author Matthew Quirk’s spy novel of the same name.

I had no doubt this would be renewed, it was the best American drama/crime thriller I have seen on Netflix, and was continually compelling and intriguing. The most amazing thing for a Netflix series, or American series is that it had no filler scenes or episodes to drag out the episode count.
Great show! Binged it last weekend. It reminded me very much of 24 in the pacing, content, twists etc.
Very pleased we get another season!
The Night Agent is arguably one of the more watchable new releases on Netflix right now, but it is a typical Canadian production in so many ways. The story arc wont test the brain cells (which is good for me) and has been used before in other spy /espionage genres which creatively probably owe a lot to The Fugitive TV series made way back in 1963 with David Janssen. For once the casting has found two personable young actors for the main roles, though I’m not sure about the artistic merit of Gabriel Basso’s tattoos, the supporting roles do just enough to keep the interest going while we wait for that final showdown with the ultra bad Ellen, played by Eve Hallow. Agent Chelsea (Fola Evans-Akingbola) may have some viewers wondering where she has appeared before, and it was in Siren, and her quietly suffering male secret service partner Erik (D.B. Woodside) was Amenadiel in Lucifer, it’s good to see them both back.
Fantastic show, I only watched it because I was too lazy to go into something that I was watching. I started to watch it and was mesmerised by how good it is, reminds me of Designated Survivor and The Bodyguard. Great news !
It’s very good. I’ve watched the first three episodes and I’m impressed.
